The Glen Hotel Elaine Function Room

The Glen Hotel, one of the oldest trading licensed premises in Queensland, recently refurbished and upgraded their function room facilities. JVG Sound Lighting and Visual installed a mix of audio, lighting and audiovisual features to enhance the venue into a ‘smart room’ using the latest technologies.

With this fabulous refurbishment now complete, The Glen Hotel Function ‘Elaine’ Room can cater to most function requirements. Guests will now view video using the new Screen Technics trapdoor motorized screens, which have been hidden from constant view by being recessed into the ceiling. Interactive HDMI and VGA audio inputs have been installed throughout the ‘smart room’ so no matter the set up of the event, simple audio connectivity is always available. The owners of the establishment also took this opportunity to re-create the ambience of the room using modern embellishment and fixtures. JVG Sound Lighting and Visual installed lighting to blend harmoniously with the new design by using J Lighting RGB Tape fitted throughout the room enabling multiple-colour backlighting to suit all occasions and tastes. White J Audio SV6i pro audio speakers and J Audio back 2-way ceiling speakers were installed throughout the room for greater sound quality. Music bands and DJ’s can now perform from various positions around the room by connecting to the XLR jacks installed on engraved wall plates, powered by J Audio amplifiers and DSP. Control of all new devices for the end user has been made easy due to the installation of the Ezi 22-inch Touch Panel system. The Touch Panel allows control of the room’s audio, video, inputs, outputs, projectors, microphones and lighting. These systems can also be controlled remotely by iPad connectivity, for use perhaps by a speaker moving throughout the room or standing behind a lectern.

Complete control and customisation of The Glen Hotel’s Function Room has also been simplified for the managers. By using their personal security pin, the manager can access a variety of options to change the room’s atmosphere to suit any event. A second security option was also enabled to provide other users with basic automated control for simple features, which they may require to change during any occasion.
