Mon Komo Hotel, Redcliffe QLD

JVG Sound Lighting and Visual was awarded and completed a full AV, lighting control and security design and construct package for this premier hotel designed by architects Brand and Slater. JVG worked with Southern Cross Construction Team during this project. Jade Golar and his team did the initial audio, lighting, automation, and security design for the multi-story venue. The ground level of the venue consists of a sports bar, TAB, a gaming room, the main entry, a lounge bar, dining area, beer garden and restroom facilities, all with back of house areas. Level one comprises of a multi-room function centre, a bar with back of house and restroom facilities.

JVG Sound Lighting and Visual, as always, used top quality products for this install. Products are especially chosen for their reliability, fine architectural appearance, specification and price. All factors were taken into consideration to ensure that aesthetically all equipment blended with the stunning architecture. A complete one-touch automation system for the client was also installed.

In the Sports Bar, 14 x SV6i 6-inch white speakers were installed for room fill, while 2 x V12 12-inch front of house left and right speakers were placed for the stage area. 2 x SV18s single 18-inch sub woofers were also mounted beneath the stage. 4 x JL120, 120W LED moving spots and 2 x JL108 RGBW moving wash lights were installed, which use Ecue software on an Ezi Control 22-inch touch panel were mounted beside the stage. XLR input plates were installed on the stage, which will enable any band or DJ to plug in a stereo input cable using the digital audio processor, Bose ESP88 system. An Ezi Control 22-inch touch panel, was mounted in each bar to allow full control on audio, video, lighting and BMS software using a Crestron CP2E Processor and XPanel. The TAB area includes 2 x J Audio SV6i 6-inch speakers and Samsung 50-inch panels.

In the Gaming area, J Audio CS-208QF ceiling speakers were used in conjunction with a Shure SLX wireless mic system required for gaming promotions. Samsung 40-inch commercial LCD panels were also installed throughout the venue, while 2 x CCTV preview 19-inch monitors were installed for gaming and entry preview displays.

The Lounge Bar is an open space, which boasts large glass window panels, high ceilings and stone floors. All of these design features had to be considered during AV installation for quality room ambience and sound. JVG Sound chose to use J Audio V12i speakers at 40 degrees horizontal, 60 degree vertical for the front of house mounted either side of the stage, and 9 J Audio SV6i 6-inch room fill boxes. Once again, XLR wall plates were installed in the Lounge Bar for bands and DJ use.
